I am currently an assistant professor in the Fariborz Maseeh Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Portland State University. I am also an affiliate of the Mathematics Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
Previously, I was at the Center for Applied Scientific Computing (CASC) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, first as the 2018 Sidney Fernbach Postdoctoral Fellow and then as a staff scientist. Before joining LLNL, I was a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Mathematics at UC Berkeley, working with Professor Per-Olof Persson. I completed my Ph.D. in applied mathematics in 2018 at Brown University, where I was co-advised by Professor Per-Olof Persson and Professor Chi-Wang Shu.
My research focuses on the areas of numerical analysis and high-performance scientific computing. Specific topics of interest include: high-order finite element and discontinuous Galerkin methods, fast solvers and matrix-free methods, computational fluid dynamics, and heterogeneous and GPU-based supercomputing.
